Vic: Police appeal for witnesses to sexual assualt
MELBOURNE, Aug 3 AAP - A 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at Mornington lateyesterday afternoon.
Police today appealed for witnesses to the attack at about 6.30pm as the girl was walkingalong the service lane of the Mornington-Tyabb Road.
A police spokesman said a man ran up to the girl, grabbed her around the waist, carriedher into bushes and sexually assaulted her.
The attacker was described as about 25, slim build, with black hair and wearing jeans.
Anyone who saw the attack or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area have been askedto call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
