Sweden held to 0-0 draw by Portugal in qualifier

Sweden dominated play for much of the match but had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Portugal in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic nearly grabbed a late winner for Sweden in the 78th minute when he fired a left-foot drive from just outside the box, but Portugal goalkeeper Quim got his gloves on the ball and tipped it away.

Ibrahimovic, Sweden's captain in the absence of the injured Henrik Larsson, got his second yellow card during the qualifying campaign in the 35th minute, which means he is suspended when Sweden faces Portugal on March 28 in Lisbon.
