ADELAIDE, Aug 17 AAP - The main stories in today's Adelaide Advertiser:
Page 1 - Wine becomes SA's biggest export item for the first time as the state's overall
performance outstrips national export growth. A $130 million wine bottle manufacturing
plant to be built near Gawler, eventually creating work for more than 300 people.
Page 2 - A new power station opened in SA's south-east yesterday expected to help prevent
blackouts.
Page 3 - Russia last night reluctantly agreed to British help in the rescue mission
to save the crew of the crippled nuclear submarine Kursk.
Overseas - Democrats wheel out trump cards when two front-ranking Kennedys take the
stage at the party's convention. Britain and France to meet to decide the future of Concorde,
prompting some aviation experts to suggest the world's only supersonic airliner may never
fly again.
Business - Amcor was on the acquisition trail and had Southcorp's packaging businesses
